2014 FX Cruiser HO vs. 2014 VX cruiser - Need Advice

PWC newbie here, but I have decided to take the plunge.
Sold my 26 foot cruiser last year, and I want to get back on the water, and go to my old fishing spots, without breaking the bank, or doing it in another boat.
.... Please help me justify the additional $4k for a FX Cruiser.....

Usage: 99.9% Ocean (fishing, and cruising within 10 to 20 miles of coastline off San Diego. Top end not too important vs. range...will be 99% solo on the ski .. No tandem riders..

2014 VX Cruiser - Bigger tank for 2014, and theoretically 4+ more hours of burn time. up to $4k less than 2014 FX Cruiser.
2014 FX cruiser - Pros over VX - Longer, wider, and will be more stable. Trim & cruise assist, 15+ more gallons of storage . Neutral ...

But at the end of the day with the VX, I could have 4$k more for extras.

    Thoughts?

No comparison as far as smoother ride & stability. FX-HO plus all the extra features you mentioned, but if fuel range is high on your priority list, VX. Try to ride both when you can. How about a slightly used FX w/ the VX motor ?

Yamaha FX Cruiser seat vs. Yamaha FX seat

The FX Cruiser seat may not be the best choice for moving around on the seat while fishing.

Like others have said no comparison, the 2014 fx is a much superior ski then the 2014 vx. I believe whats gonna suit you best is a 2002 to 2008 yamaha fx with the mr1 engine it has size, stability, good ocean ride, comfort, reliability, great fuel consumption, tops out around mid 50's and your gonna save lots of money to put towards the fishing upgrades.

I personally have two and would not change them for any other ski. I am a happy camper.

That much ocean riding? That far out? No question, you want the FX hull.

Skip the cruiser, just get the FX HO.

Everyone thanks for the feedback. I believe there is no doubt that I should go with an FX series.
