2006 RXT - top speed only 35mph, compression 120/110/120, - what is wrong?
2006 RXT, 169 hrs, stock
top speed is 35mph, power seems to come and go, power cutouts randomly. at no time is there much power.
it acts kinda like a coil is bad, or coil is working intermittently? (is that possible?)
compression is 120/110/120
revs up fine out of water
P0505 error on the display
pump parts all look fine, although there does seem to be be excessive rattle in drive train when it is idling out of the water, in the water it sounds ok
works better after it warms up
no smoke in the exhaust, engine oil looks fine
ski has been sitting for a while and bad gas is also possible
supercharger was rebuilt under warranty in 2007 by dealer
a supercharger slipping would still at least get me to 50mph right? and it would slip consistently, not intermittently?
limp home mode?
the problem turned out to be bad gas, lol. it just took a full tank of gas a few hours of running to get all the bad gas out of there.

If the charger was rebuilt in 07 they still used ceramics.
Don't ride it or crank it again till charger is completely rebuilt with new washers and bearings. Jerry on this site does a great job.
You don't want to complicate the situation with dropped ceramics in your motor.
I'd put new gas and plugs and run some Injector cleaner thru it.
Also check impeller and wear ring.

Also read the sticky on exhaust valves.
They tend to fail more on skis that have been sitting.

yeah, read it, it was built in 12/14/2005, so it could have the bad valves. however i wouldnt be getting 120/110/120 compression if the valves had failed right?

You are right.
But just because they are working now doesn't mean they are going to stay working for too long.
Ask me how I know???
I've had 2x 2006 doos that ate exhaust valves...
Without warning they just crap out.
Both skis had sat and valves did have light rust..

yeah, new valves would be in my future for sure. how hard are they to change? special tools needed?

I'm putting my money on stripped splines on the driveshaft or something SC'er related.

did you try fresh gas and plugs?
Check slip then spark, fuel pressure, injectors ect......
