Best way to clean fuel injectors once removed from fuel rail??

Anyone have a proven method of cleaning fuel injectors once they are detached from the fuel rail?

Send them to an injector shop and get it done properly. I would not want to do one myself with no prior knowledge and risk it failing, the cylinder running lean and doing damage to a valve or worse.
