    How many hours?

I’m curious…..what do you guys consider low hours or high hours? I know that figure depends on how old the ski is. And how many hours does the average (I know average varies) user put on a ski per year?

Reason I ask. I bought 2009 last week with 29 hrs on it (10 hrs per year). Well in a week and a half I put an addition 10 hrs. If I use it like I expect to I will put 75-100 hrs per year. If I use it for several years I could put 300-400 hrs on it. Do many skis see that kind of total time?

    Yea, in my garage
If you live near water(I'm 5 minutes from Lake Havasu, AZ), and have good riding weather year round, 10 hours is normal, in a month.

I sold my 2008 RXT-X, and it had 190 on it, and still looked and performed like new. So, some buyers might take into account that you live near water, and ride a lot. Just make sure you take care of the boat with regular maintenance, keep a log of that maintenance, and ride the hell out of it.
If it's mechanically sound, and looks good and well kept, it shouldn't be a problem selling it later. But, expect a few buyers to low-ball you because of the hours. I only had 1 buyer that was "concerned" with the hours on my boat. When I pulled out my maintenance log, and all the old parts I've replaced-there were no longer concerned.

There are a few members on here who have 300+ hours on their PWC's.

You didn't buy it for resale value

Over 400 on mine and was running great before I had Slow91 build up the motor for me.. Now over 500 hours and people don't believe it, looks and runs like a new ski.. Take care of it and it will take care of you

    Cool

I'm more concerned if a ski has very low hours and hasn't been used enough.

I've bought plenty of skis with guages that didn't work and after plugging them into a Candoo I find out they have 500-990 hours.
It's very possible to go over 1,000 hours with proper maintenance..

As long as hours reflect condition and maintenance, not a big deal. Hours are a funny thing as too low on an older ski can be problematic as use prevents it from wasting away. Like the finds that need to be freshened up in order to run correctly. Obvious high hours without the appropriate maintenance means worn or fatigued parts. If buying the lower the better with consideration given to maintenance. As a long term owner, as long as you keep it in proper running condition, shouldn't really matter.
