    good opportunity?

Hey all, new to the site. I'm in the process of buying an 06 rxp. The problem im having is wether or not i should buy the brand new, still in the crate rxp i have been looking at, or go with one i found recently with a riva stage 2 upgrade kit. the one with the upgrade kit is also an 06 (viper red) and the place im getting it from claims that the stage 2 kit was installed to show customers what can be done, and that it was never ridden in water. He also says it will be backed with full factory warranty, and is the same price as the stock one. Should i buy something thats already been upgraded or stick with new? thanks...

Was the one that was installed ever been in the water?

Personally I would go with the one in the crate, because you can break it in properly and install the components you want...

same price...never in water....i'd buy the stg 2. that way, when you've poked around here for a while and want to upgrade you can sell off some of the parts and put the $ towards faster parts.

ie..riva intake for a riva REAR intake

rive sc impellor(or entire sc) for a Rude charger

    you get the picture.

but it's already got a lot of the little upgrades you're going to want like a wedge, intake grate, intercooler, exhuast. AND a warranty (get that in writing).

Thanks guys, like i said, the guy told me it was installed just to show
off the upgrade kit to people coming in the store, probably because
they do those installs there. He said it had never been in the water so
i imagine that it has to have very few hours on it.Im just not sure i want to buy a ski thats already been "tampered" with. The deal sure does make it tempting though.

If it's never been in the water make the guy hook up the battery and verify the hours in front of you. Zero hours = a brand new ski.

If its been in the water, even as a DEMO, its now a USED ski...You have to see if it was broken in properly, which I doubt it was given it was a DEMO...

What was the price difference (if any) between the two...Ask how many hours are on the Stg 2...

If you can double check to see if it has been in the water or not....if not, and has less than .5 hours on it, thats a STEAL!
