NJ/ PA Crew 2007 events and Schedules

We will have two AWA events this year, both of which will be located at Lake Wallenpaupack, PA up in the Poconos. The first event will be open to everyone on July 7th and 8th. Activities are still in the planning phases, but expect to see a scavenger hunt spread out across the beautiful 5,700 acre lake! Come on out for a day of fun, or even better yet plan on spending a weekend on the campgrounds or in a cabin to maximize the fun!

The second event will be held on the weekend of August 11th and 12th also at Lake Wallenpaupack. This will be a "stand up" event catered for the first time by an AWA club to stand up riders! Activities and events will be focused on stand up riders and will be a laid back weekend devoted to freestyle and relaxation! Sit down riders are welcome to watch, but activities and give aways will be focused on stand ups only. If you ride a sit down and plan on attending, please remain clear of any freestyle activity as a larger sit down model poses a severe threat to stand up riders doing freestyle.

Details on the above events will be available shortly. We're still working on ironing all the little details out. The camp site that we will be using will be announced as soon as I contact the local authorities.

Along with the two AWA events, there will be many local rides planned throughout the season. The differences between an "event" and a "ride" are that a ride is less formal, doesn't have any give aways or food provided, and are geared towards just getting everyone together for a relaxing day of shooting the BS and riding!

Here is a full list of Rides and AWA events planned for this season:

June 2nd- Season Opener at Bulls Island, NJ. Come on out and enjoy the summer weather that will be blessing us by this time of year! New to the crew? This is your chance to meet all of the great people that share the same passion for the sport! Bulls Island is the birth place of the NJ/ PA Crew and is situated in scenic Stockton, NJ. It's just a few short miles north of Lambertville, NJ and New Hope, PA. This is a small quaint riding spot that feels more like a private riding spot than a public boat ramp. There are plenty of picnic benches, grills, and a porta potty on site.

Following the Season Opener will be an after party at the Orr's! Jim, Colleen, and the kids will be our hosts for the night and are located near Willow Grove, PA which is a short hop from Bulls Island.

June 30th- Meet your local AWA groups at Berkeley Island, NJ! All 4 local AWA clubs will be present including the Jetty Jumpers (NYC), NJ Powersports (Barnegat, NJ), The PA RiverRunners (Reading, PA) and yours truly the NJ/ PA Crew! Enjoy a relaxing day on the bay with all these great people! Berkeley Island is a short hop to Tyson's Shoal where you can anchor your ski and walk across the Fisherman's Walkway onto the beaches of Island Beach State Park. If you're up for the challenge, you can navigate your way through the Barnegat Inlet for some surf riding action too!

July 7th and 8th- Lake Wallenpaupack AWA event. Details are listed above. More information will be released soon.

July 14th- AWA DC Freedom Ride! This is the 3rd annual DC Freedom Ride hosted by Mr. Big himself, Chris Manthos and the staff of the AWA! Ride along with literally hundreds of others riders up to the country's capital and enjoy a day out on the water down in DC!

Aug. 11th and 12th- Lake Wallenpaupack AWA "Stand Up" event. Details are listed above. More information will be released soon.

Aug. 26th- Come on out for another fun filled day at Berkeley Island, NJ!

Sept. 8th- We present to you the "Tour of Two Cities, Philadelphia" part deux! On this day we'll be exploring what the Philadelphia area has to offer via the Delaware River and the Schuylkill River! We'll launch from the West Deptford boat ramp in Gloucester, NJ around 11am. Check out pictures from last year's event in the photo gallery and read more about it in this thread:

Sept. 15th- Continue your tour on the "Tour of Two Cities, NYC" part deux! On this day we'll launch from beautiful Liberty State Park, NJ around 11am to capture the amazing sights of NYC! Other options for the day can include riding around Manhatten, checking out Coney Island, and possibly grabbing some grub from a restaurant on the water! Pictures from last year's event can be seen in the photo gallery and details on it can be found here:

Hopefully there will be at least one ride or event that will satisfy everyone! We're looking forward to seeing everyone out and on the water this year!
