tour or float coat.. need some help

so i have been digging through the search function looking for a fatboy tour or float coat. i wear a 2xl vest weigh 270lbs.. broad chest and shoulders and have no idea how a large/XL tour coat will fit. yes i know they run big but it is big enough? i have found some 2xl float coats as well.

really just need to get some opinions on which one if either will fit and be somewhat comfortable. i did email slippery and ask the same thing since the size chart they have doesnt list the coats.

real world opinions are what i want.

I can't really help you. I have a hoodless Slippery Tour Coat in an XL and I wear it over my vest and it fits. But the last time I wore it I was probably 240 lbs...so not really the same size as you to compare properly. My Slippery wetsuit is a XXXL though if that helps any.

I was lucky enough to have a local shop that carries the coats so I could try them on.

i hit one dealer to see if they had anything... nada. i have not had a chance to go to the other dealer. with it being the off season here.. in texas no less they have all but gotten rid of the pwc stuff. last wetsuit i had was a 3x from slippery as well.. i was prolly pushing 300lbs then. this was also back in 98-99. wore the butt outta it in offshore endurance.

gotta love the reply from slippery..they are very large LOL. at least its a start. called the other dealer in austin, nothing in stock not even gloves.

    Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry and support. I recommend the Tour Coat because they are very large to accommodate a vest being worn underneath.

    Sincerely,

    Slippery

What size suit coat do you wear?

I bought a Mustang Float Coat in XL (size 46 - 50) that turned out to be WAY too big for me. (I'm a 44 regular)
    -there size runs spot on.

If your interested in a 46-50, I sill have it NIB.

I have the Slippery Tour Coat in a L/XL. I'm 6'2" 230lbs and wear it over a Jettribe RS16 which is a thin syle PFD. The coat fits me comfortably and I tend to like stuff loose not clingy. Hope this helps.

well i found the jet tribe 2xl one will go up to a 62 inch chest. with my vest on im at 57 inches so that should work. i dont have any experience with jet tribe products but they look to be well made. going to get one ordered in the next cpl of days.
