mikuni jet size question
i have drilled out my return restrictors on my gp1200r and going to install the 95 jet in the return line. i'll have to wait for a 95 main jet to get shipped to me. my question is are the pilot and main jets sized the same? is a 95 pilot jet the same orifice size as a 95 main jet? if so i am going to tap one of my old main jets to accept one of my old 95 pilot jets. not because i'm cheap, just don't want to wait to get one shipped. thanks, paul c.

Yes, the hole size is the same. The difference would only be the physical size of the jet needing to thread into a different passage in the carb. Now, from brand to brand, Mikuni to Keihin for example, Would be slightly different sizes even though they are both called a 95.

It may not fit or it might damage the return nozzle. Main jets have a bigger outter diameter which means youll need to use a larger tap. If its got enough metal to tap out then it should work.

i believe people use a main jet for this. i just have at my dispose a 95 pilot and a stock main jet which will never get used. i will drill out the main so i can tap it to accept the pilot jet. thanks again for the info.
