Fuel Pump Install Question...Pump module will not go into tank (1/2" too tall)??

I am replacing the fuel pump in a 04 RXP with another Bosch pump that is exactly the same as the one that comes stock. Rebuilt the pump assembly and now the pump assembly seems to be about a half inch too tall to fit back into the tank...I know I read somewhere on this site of others having this problem?

BTW I believe the external filter is in the right position but can someone confirm the correct position. I was looking at MSRXP's writeup and it looks the same as in their pics.

Can anyone weigh in on what the issue is?

Its spring loaded.. You will have to push with some force and thread a nut on and tighten

I have been trying to push the module down...but it still does not want to go all the way down flush all the way around. The module is install so the float arm is pointing towards the back of the ski with the float arm mechanism assembly on the left (the side with the reverse lever)...I can feel the module slip into the tank grooves and lock in place...but feel like it could be pushed down a little further in that spot?

Also the external filter was pressed all the way on and is a little less than flush with the bottom of the module assembly....and the filer is installed longways on the bottom so that there is very minimal overhang on all sides?

tighten them in a star pattern until it sits flush with the tank...
