Took my pump off today to figure out why I'm getting some cavitation. I found the impeller boot for my Solas prop sitting loose on the driveshaft. What could cause this thing to have come loose, and how does it actually attach to the prop? Is it a rubber seal? Mine no longer fits tightly, just wobbles around and falls off.

Happens all the time. There WAS an o-ring and it WAS threaded. You can run without it. Speedfreaks makes an alternative if you want to replace it.

Looks like the threads have been stripped of you cone...As stated above, you can run your prop without it with no issues at all..
