Thread: Screaming(literally) SeaDoo
10-13-2013, 11:22 AM #1
While running WOT on a lake, the ski started screaming. Soundedlike 50 loose fan belts, I had to get towed home.
First thought was the supercharger(95 Hrs) but itís OK.Pulled the pump it seems OK. This is asfar as I've had the ski apart. I want to start the engine but it doesnít seenlike a good idea with no pump on the drive shaft.
Iíd appreciate any ideas/suggestions. Thanks Ed.

you don't want to even think about starting the engine with the pump off the ski.
maybe the carbon seal squealing?
I'd pull the oil filter and examine it for debris..could be a bearing failed.

I hadnít looked that close at the splines when I pulled the pump. They do look in bad shape. I was going to change the impeller anyway. Iíve been told the 22R is too much prop. I'm surprised at the rust. I put some lube on when I assembled it.
