Has anyone used Saltaway when flushing the motors?

We used it after out recent Florida trip. Worked like a charm. A little bit goes a long way in the hose dispenser it comes with.

    It's good stuff.

I've heard a little dawn detergent does the same thing and is way cheaper..

+1 I do the same after a shore trip. Locally I'm in fresh/brackish.

It does, and it is. Just don't use it to wash the ski (or car) as it strips wax.

I read this a few years ago and that's what I do after a salt water ride. Lately I have been using some orange citrus cleaner from Home Depot about 1 cup into the flush port then run on the hose for about 1 min until it stops foaming.

The test came when I rebuilt my old 98 GTXL earlier this year, the cylinders and head had very little corrosion in the water jackets. There were a few small spots in the corners but nothing even close to some of the growths I have seen in neglected salt water skis.
