Exclamation CRAP! Ever see this happen on a RXT?

about 76mph as far as I can tell(not GPSing in the heat anymore) POW! Snapped it backwards and didn't go through the pump thank god. It was a stock grate. My Riva did this too but didn't last anywhere near as long as the stocker. Anyone know the stock bolt size I need to pick up? Rode like this the rest of the day but knocked back to 8200RPMs.

I assume I can actually run without an intake grate for a day right? I have a family picnic coming up Saturday.

Had it happen with a riva grate but never a stock grate. But I never went that fast with a stock grate on.

I store it in my garage and never beach the ski. I'm wondering if I'm approaching the time to switch out the shoe with a tx

If the grate was gone I would think the front bolt backed out first??

Front bolt is still there with a chunk of aluminum behind it. Very back bolt is still there with a chunk of aluminum behind it. It's weird

Well if you do not recall going over anything ... maybe a stress crack in the grate finally gave way?

Any sign of the shoe lifting and water entering between shoe and grate?

If the shoe pulls away from the grate I could see it breaking the rear then the front.

I have seen a guy make his own shoe protector from Stainless. I think you need to do what people do the the rxps. Even though everyone says its not needed, I think it is when you push a couch that fast! My 2.5 cents
