I have a buddy who's suburban and trailer went down like that. Only thing is at the end of the concrete ramp was a 10+ ft drop. He called me from the ramp and asked me to bring some towels and watch as they tried to dive down and hook it up to the tow truck..

How did they manage to get it back up that drop off?

With many tries of pulling and releasing it. The whole front of the truck was trashed. It was a ramp where very large boats go in and out so all the bottom was washed away. Tow bill was close to 1k. It took a semi tow truck to pull it out.

I have never had an issue ... but just to be safe I always block my back wheel. I guess this sorta thing really does happen. I keep a super duty hard rubber wedge wheel block in the back of my SUV, I use all the time for launching my skis. I got it @ Harbor Freight for $5 bucks. Good Luck with your truck ...
