    World speed record goes down in tavares at the 3rd of of the us hydro drag nationals

    The Finals of the IJSBA US National HydroDrag Series were held in Tavares, Florida, and presented by RIVA Racing, HydroTurf, Blowsion, Yamaha, City of Tavares, Lake County, and Sea Doo. The weather was near perfect for the HydroDrag competitors that came from far and wide to complete in the final stop of the 1st ever US Tour as recognized by the International Jet Sports Boating Association of Halfmoon Bay, California.
    Nearly a thousand people were on site, to witness history on Sunday morning, October 20th to see Tampa's Rayge Sanchez (Yamaha), become the new record holder in SANCTIONED competition with a speed of 106.0 during the PWC Speed Alley Competition, Umlimited Class, and breaking the old record of 101.7 posted by Joseph Mastrapa of Valrico, Florida, in November of 2012. The big winners during the weekend besides Rayge include Speed Alley Champs Ron Allison (79.2) Stock, Andy Street (88.0) Spec, Ross Niemoeller (93.5) in Superstock. The HydroDrag Champs for the weekend were Stanley Hightower (Yamaha) Unlimited, Kerry Hibdon (Yamaha) Superstock, Kerry Hibdon (Yamaha) Spec, Clay Barbee (Yamaha) Normally Aspirated, Eric Francis, (Kawasaki) Stock.
    The next scheduled event is the RIVA Racing HydroDrag World Finals and is scheduled for Polk City, Florida, on November 2-3 at the USA Water Ski Hall of Fame and will feature the best racers in HydroDrag Racing from across the globe to compete in the RIVA Racing World Championships of HydroDrag Racing. Also the Blowsion/HydroTurf Flatwater Freestyle Competition, live entertainment and announcing, vendors, and the Speed Alley Runs! Admission is $10 on Saturday and $20 on Sunday, or a 2-day pass for $25, pit parking is free for each racer and their trailer, but is is $25 per spot for those who don't want the general admission parking. Spectators may bring coolers and food, but no grills on site will be allowed. If you have any questions contact Mike Young at m[email protected].     He was flying and deserves the credit. He has been busting his ass to put put that number. Congrats! That ski was flying!

    Looking forward to world finals! See ya in couple weeks.
