    Jetting question

I have a 2000 SLX 1200 that I just got some V Force reeds for. It is mostly stock with a jet works valve hot seat waterbox and I dropped the low speed jets from 70's to 65's.

Do I need to re-jet when I put the new reeds in?

I'd perform a plug chop or check piston wash at this point. Going leaner with mods, usually isn't a good thing.

If I put the 70's back in do you think it would be fine?

    JETTING

01 Slx Is Jetted 65 Pilots,40 Mids, And 140,142,135,your Current Jetting Is 65 Pilots,42 Mids And 140,142,135.so If Adding V-force Reeds To A Stock 01 Slx Requires Rejetting Maybe You Might

That is a loaded question and I don't think you'll get anybody to say it'll be fine.
You really need to perform plug chops and/or read piston wash.
The problem is what works for one guy may or may NOT work for the next guy.
There are too many variables. Quality of fuel, fuel octane, altitude, humidity, cooing mod to the engine, ignition timing etc.
When I first started tuning carbs I'd take it to a good tuner, check what he'd done and make changes to see how it would effect my engine.
Yes I took down a few pistons in the beginning and no I still don't feel good enough to fine tune others stuff, I tend to leave things on the rich side in fear of failure.

    JETS

Understood, but If Adding A Hotseat Waterbox And V-force Reeds To A Stock 01 Slx Would Give You Cause To Rejet Then I Say Rejet,i Myself Think It Would Be Close Enough To Allow You To Do Some Easy Runs And Then Check The Wash

I agree BUT I won't step up and say go for it. If it burns down, I'd have to feel bad, I don't want to feel bad, I have my wife to do that.
The other problem is not having any current views of how the boat is currently running he may have a bad seal right now today and you'd never know it.
Offering jetting help is a very difficult thing to do as everybody assumes the engine is in perfect working order, some are and others are a can of worms waiting to bust out.

    JETS

Then I Guess The First Question Is How Does It Run Currently And What Does The Wash Look Like

I believe the V Force reeds said beefing up the mixture screw may be needed, but prob. not rejet. But you will want to check the pistons and plugs as stated earlier.
