    Anotehr winterize question

STX 15F is the ski. I searched and it looks like I need to get all water out of the exaust. Is there water stored in the block anywhere that I need to drain? I couldn't see any post that talked about anything but the exaust water.

JOC - What year is your STX-15F?

If you are in a geographic area where it will freeze - it is recommended that you run some RV (Environmentally Friendly) Anti-Freeze through the cooling system of your ski.

I would fog the engine with some fogging spray - while doing this as well.

Then pull your plugs and make sure there's some lubrication in the combustion chambers as well - like maybe spray some fogging oil down each plug hole. Re-install your spark plugs when finished.

Then remove your battery and charge it periodically over the winter months to keep it from dropping too low on VDC Charge.

    Good Luck !!!

Cool, I was just curious. My question had no "technical merit".

Good Luck - and hope that helps you.

Feel free to ask away (participate). That's what this BB is here for !!!

we run 2 gals of pink -50 deg antifreeze through the flush fitting at the front, while the ski is running. ( I have a tank that is pressurized to blow antifreeze through)

Treat the fuel ( do this first)
    fog the motor
    change the oil & filter

    make sure hull is dry.

Grease all cables, bushings, latches, etc.

Treat the Fuel = Very Important step - especially if it contains ethanol.

I just bought a 2016 stx 15f and rode it for a half hour the other day and need to winterize it now. I read to drain the exhaust and it doesn't mention antifreeze in the manual but im in ne ohio and I want to. My question is do I NEED a pump, or can I simply use a funnel and start the engine and start pouring it until I see it exiting the muffler. Also to fog, I don't understand why you need to bother unplugging the 2 connectors, Id rather just pull the plugs and fog the cylinders and turn it over without going through the hassal of unplugging them.

Also I hate to even fog it it only has a half hr on it and hate to foul new plugs on a brand new machine, seams silly

Won't hurt a thing. Next spring, pull the plugs and spray them with a little solvent or gasoline, blow them dry and re-install, go ride!
