Really now?? That's very interesting considering your ski has an 8040 rpm limiter.....

On a Sea-doo, the speed limiter works just as Jerry describes but about 66 is all you will see on the dash. The CMD will show 60% throttle as the speed is held down by the ECU. Most all cars and motorcycles do the same thing for torque control.

Stock ecu in limited at 8040 rpms, either your ecu is tuned or the dashboard read can bus signal wrong.
You can get over rpms if you jump waves or similar not should not have a constant reading of 8150.

If you really do then its very dangerous for your engine since the ecu will cut fuel over 8040 so you risk of being lean when on that rpms w stock ecu.

Yep...I can even shoot video of it if you'd like. AND, the ECU has NOT been touched, by anyone. My boat still has only 16 hours on it, with zero mods-nothing, zip, nada!!! I'm not touching a thing on "The Whale", until my 3 year warranty runs out!!! IF I want to go 80+mph, I know someone that has a boat I can ride

I Saw 8152 a few days ago-with the throttle pinned, and 69.9mph on my handheld GPS....that was for a few miles(was trying to run the fuel down until the "fuel" light came on, so I'd know how many gallons I had left).
I'm well aware of the limiters SeaDoo has on there PWC's. Been there, felt that. But, on my boat-nothing has been touched, and that is the speed and rpm I'm seeing. Go figure.

It actually is possible to fool the stock ECU on a Seadoo to get the motor to pull right up to 8150 as the motor sweeps from about 40-64 MPH. As soon as the ski gets to 65.5 mph the throttle starts rolling back even with this mod. The average guy would never figure out how to do it.

I got it to actually tap 8375 on a hole shot before the rev limiter cut in. I also go a CEL... but it ran real snappy. Right after that I went to a CMD and never looked back.

8152? These things will actually give you increments below 5?

BTW If you're used to a suspension sled or large 3 seater and just jump on a 80+mph small sled you're in for an eye opener and possible bodily harm. They're not the same. Anyone with or who has ridden a GP1300r will know exactly what I mean

    Very good point Jonatan!

Paul, if you are indeed turning 8150 RPM under a load (ski not coming unhooked) then you better look into this.

What does the stock dash GPS speedo read when you are doing this?
