Redoing Wire harness
Do you guys know what gauge the wire is on the main harness to the MFD an also to the start stop switch? It isn't clearly marked, and west marine wasn't sure if it was 16 or 20 gauge.

Did you still want a cyl and dome?

There is no heavy current flow to the display (MFD) so the actual wire gauge is not super critical.
That said, I would choose the heavier 16 gauge stranded wire (AWG 16) for robustness. Heavier gauge wire tends to withstand more abuse over time, as long as you can properly attach it at the wire connector crimp ends.
20 gauge seems rather thin, I think the smallest I would even consider would be 18 gauge, with a preference for 16.
