Wear ring spinning inside pump housing???

I thought Sea Doo fixed this bullshit years ago.

You can see what looks like a scuff on the pump shoe.

The wear ring has a deep groove in it.

    25 hours on the ski.

I just installed a new wear ring and a 15/20R

Look at the pics and tell me what you guys think.

    Thanks...........

FYI, when I removed the factory wear ring, I put the pump in the freezer for 45 minutes and I basically pulled it out with my fingers

    2 suggestions.

    1. Get your engine alignment checked .

    2. Get a SS wear ring.

    In that order.

Thanks for the reply. I already have a new plastic ring for now.

Does it look to you like the ring was spinning ?

No it looks to me like an engine not aligned with the pump. Been there done that and had the exact same issues with premature wear ring wear, just like yours. There have been many of us with this problem. The good news it is relatively easy to fix, and once it is aligned correctly, you won't have these problems.

Should I buy a Sea Doo alignment tool?

    What do you use?

Ive done it, but that was on 785 2 strokes. Been a long time. Didn't even need a tool to align those.

    Thanks again.

Mine looked like when I had a piece of crab trap rope go through mine...went to SS and never looked back.

Definitely check/align the engine. You can order alignment kit from SBT. Just be aware their plate doesn't have holes for the nubs that guide the pump on. Either cut them off or drill holes...otherwise alignment plate won't be flat. I smushed mine so I ended up just cutting them off. You can see one in your pic with the driveshaft in the lower left. I'd support your shaft if your going to leave it in the PTO...not good to let it hang.

That wear ring is in there snug...I don't see it spinning. Put the pump in the freezer and it will come right out. First time I cut it out...till I learned that trick. When you go to assemble it put pump in the sun and the ring in the freezer. Press it in quickly with a 2x4 or a press if you have one..

Until you break the cheap OEM mounts and the engine wobbles off alignment. This is where RHAAS mounts come in

i never have that problem. I run a SS plus all three solid mounts. I also aligned my motor. Yes, I bought the tool years ago.
