    Dropped screwdriver under motor

While winterizing the ski yesterday, I dropped a screwdriver in the hull right next to the exhaust manifold, and it fell under the motor
Now I have some pretty skinny arms/hands, but still can't feel it anywhere from the front/sides/rear of the motor.

I had already planned on pulling the SC for a rebuild over the winter, will this extra room give me access to under the motor to reach it?

Depending on the size of it... I have got them out with the aid of (a telescopic magnet) yes with SCer off you have much better access under the motor.

It is a bastard when they drop down there you are not alone!!!

    Good luck

You'll get it eventually. Try tilting the ski back as well. I've recovered sockets, nuts, screwdrivers this way.

What the hell happened to you coming on the hudson run few weeks back?

If you work on jet skis, you have to have one in you tool box. Only problem is that they dont work to well on stainless parts... http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-TEKTON-7611-24-Inch-Flexible-Magnetic-Pick-Up-Tool-/181243604165?pt=US_Hand_Tools&hash=item2a32f5ecc5

Like many have mentioned a telescopic magnet ,I also have one that's made on a long spring coil (1ft) with the magnet on the end,it's a a good one to have along with the telescopic one ...it's good to wiggle around under engine ,exhaust and tight little spots....G/L you'll get her...

I did that too, I ended up takin two of the big hoses off and since the ski was on a trailer I pushed the trailer backwards about 5-10 feet to a pair of chocks I previously lined up , the sudden stop pushed the screw driver towards the rear of the block !
I threw the screw driver in the trash after I got it out!
    God Speed !
