    power valve help

Hey guys I've got an 00 1200r that I was planning on selling but decided to keep instead. The ski has 110hrs on it and the original pwr valve setup.A mechanic friend says they have updated versions from yamaha that can be used or should I stay with the originals and do wave eater clips?Any advice Thanks

do one or the other! the wave eaters also come with upgraded couplings for the shaft. you have been fortunate so far don't wait it could be costly.

I just fitted the Waveater clips AND the shafts. $105 shipped. Takes about an hour to fit, including removal of exhaust pipe. I couldn't see what all the fuss was about, but now they're on, I can imagine what happens WHEN the pin comes out! The clips are ingenious, and the shafts are a better fit than OEM. A good piece of insurance! 2 of the bolts on the exhaust look like you'd never get 'em out, but a 3/8" knuckle joint on your socket and it fits OK between the hull and the exhaust. You don't need to do anything on the valves, except remove the 4 bolts and the covers, the clips then slot straight on over the assembly.
