    Oil pressure high after rebuild

    Hi Guys,
Hoping someone can help me here.
Just had the motor rebuilt by a pro. I rebuilt the oil pumps and pressure regulator and did the 06 rocker shaft mod (05 oil jet removed).
When running the engine I get an oil fault at 3500rpm and the limiter comes in. Mechanical gauge reads 40psi at idle (warm) and by 3500rpm it's at 70-80 psi.
I pulled the regulator and it looks perfect.

Has anyone ever seen this before? I am a bit stuck on where to look next.

    Thanks.

The pressure switch seems to be functioning by the motec logs. Is there another pressure sensor?
The manual says oil pressure should be 72psi max which I'm hitting by 3500rpm when the limiter comes in. Doesn't this mean the sender is working correctly?

There is two sensor on the 05 models. One in the front and one by the oil filter.

my 05 also has a oil psi problem
I just shut off the alarm and just log it
figured the calibration file was for a different year or different sensor
I just never had time to fix it
also your efr6258 is very close to my gtx2863

    Thanks guys.
    Filter is all good.
Chris, do you know how high your oil pressure gets at high revs? I'm at 80psi by 3500rpm, I'd hate to think what it will be at 8600rpm!

there is no sensor to measure pressure to high so most likely a faulty sensor or the one in front of the motor is plugged in backwards the plug has 1 pin and can go on the wrong way. the pressure will run high when the oil is cold and steadily drop as it gets hotter.
