Speed can be found elsewhere
After reading for the last couple months, I have noticed that everyone seems to be focused on the wedge and ride plate. Although gains can be found there, it is easily obtained elsewhere without compramising the integrity of the handling.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that we're going to need patience and wait for other parts to come. I like instant gradifacation too, but we're going to have to get more inventive than just trying to squeeze all the speed out of the ride plate and wedge. And although we all don't have thousands to spend, there will still be some affordable hpwr upgrades left to come.
Here is my latest finding in Kawisaki slowing down the ski. After inspecting the sponsons, it was evident that they were sloping downwards towards the back of the ski. This causes drag and keeps the nose down also. Keeping the nose up is great if you want to scream across the lake, but I am in the position where I need the speed, but also need to keep the nose down to a degree for cc racing.
Any how here is my version of sponsons that are a cross between the R & D style sponson and the Aggressor sponson. Sorry if the pics aren't the greatest, I had to get the wife to take them since I'm out of town right now.
But you can see by the tape how far the stock sponsons were sloping compared to the aftermarket. It will be another week before I test them, but I would put money on it that it will show an increase of speed and actually make the ski handle better.

Tell me how it goes. Did you level them out with the hull? Mine are a cross between the ultra 150 aggressor and the stxr 15f r&d.
Hull truing at this point will be a next winter project. There is a diffinent lip from about 6" in front of the sponson all the way under the ski to the other side. Check it out when you get a chance. Hull truing can also produce 1+mph. Worth it? I don't know, but I'm sure the serious racers will do it.

Why not just slap a set of 15F sponsons on there?
I believe they will fit.
And whats up with that stock 250X intake grate with the big bolt going right through the center ?

"Rod" if you prefer.............

Im sure that is to strengthen the intake grate and keep trash out of the pump.

I think Ill wait to see what it does before I do any hull modifacations.

the 15f sponsons are great...for the 15f. The hull sizes are pretty far apart and the 250 is going to need alittle more arressive sponson than the 15f. try out the 15f sponsons and let me know. I think theyre around $285.

are the sponsons in the water at high speed, may be they drop the nose in a turn and adds to its turning prowess
