I am running 79.6 with 05 pump no 2 in. extension and a nasty buck between 79 and 79.6. However I added a R&D extended nozzle and the buck is not quite as bad as when I was running the stock shorter nozzle. I don't know why this may have helped but it did a little. In other words with the shorter stock exit nozzle when it was time for the buck there was no staying in the throttle. With the extended R&D nozzle it still bucks but not as violently. I can actually stay in the throttle, but it just keeps unhooking. I know this is not the same principal as a 2in. housing extension but the extra length seems to help a little. How bout that one guys???

i'm thinking that the added length increases the amount of water stored behind the prop, just enough that it can keep the volume of water down so that it doesn't back up and try to regurgitate itself out the front from being too full.

but then again saltygpr just experienced the buck on his 05. i think the majority DO NOT use the 2 inch spacer

I think his was the result of a diferent issue though with his transom plate leaking.
