    1st post

66mph, rpm ?, Willfzs, 2013 FZS, bone stock w/ 2hrs, 160lb rider, 72 degree air, 55 degree water, 1200' elevation, choppy water, neutral trim, 2 fuel bars. Have been looking at riva and r&d kits and even putting together my own kit. I can easily make exhaust and power filter myself. I ride for fun but want quick acceleration and at least high 70's mph. also any input on frozen boost intercoolers (type 14) and ease or complexity of adapting to the FZR. thanks

That speed is right for a stock ski in those conditions. Don't get a kit, look around the forum at what others are doing. You can get better speeds than you will with a kit for less money. Start with an intake grate (for safety), ribbon delete, DIY intake and exhaust, and repitch. There are several threads on how to fit a type 14. It depends on how fast you want to go. Look through the speed database thread to see what people are doing to get their speeds.
    Welcome to the forum.

I am going to start with the following mods and try to test in the coming weeks if I get a break in weather.
homemade air filter, exhaust, and IC and engine cooling kit. power sleeve, type 14 IC, BOV, r&d grate and shoe seal. I have pieces around so I will probably set up fuel pressure regulator awhile for future mods. I am hopeful for some sort of improvement. any thoughts or opinions?

66 is about right as far as top speed for bone stock.

But she's got a lot more rpms and speed you have got to unleash it and that requires $$$$ and knowledge.
Plenty of posts on here to inform you of your best route.

    Get R done!!!

I like the R&D reflashes R1,R2,R3 How ever if you are a tech guy there are others that you can re program your self if you are in to that. Me my self I like reflashes as I am no tech guy. (too old of dog to teach new tricks) Which ever way you go this is a MUST DO mod to unleash your ski with out this you will never get the results you want. Tommy Jordan
