It was R&D but for Higher HP applications don't know which model it was. So now Im very confused which intake grate to get?? I don't want to get hurt but don't want to loose any MPH its hard enough to keep up with buddies FZR AND FZS im fighting for every 0.1MPH lol. Any input will help thank you

That was the wrong grate for your application. That Pro2 grate should only be used on VXR's for closed course applications where hook up and cornering are very important.

Either one of these grates is a much better choice for you.

I use the Riva SS grate on my VXR at 90+ mph.

I didn't know there was a bucking issue on the vxr? I thought it was only on the fzr/sho

The VXR will buck like a bronco when pushed to 71+ mph with the stock grate.

Pro 2 (R&D) grate does not belong on a (N/A) VXR
    for any application.

R&D Aquavein (Jerry’s store) best all around
grate for speed and handling. May see +1mph
top end. Acceptable handling even for CC.

Riva Stainless (Jerry’s store) best for CC handling
and hook-up. But it will cost you 2+ mph top end.

FZR and FZS mostly, but not the FX SHO.
There are at least 4 cases of the stock VXR also bucking on the forum; DarkCanuck, MadCane and others claim to have experienced it firsthand. Jerry can set you up with an intake grate to help avoid this. You can read more about it here; I'm hoping they will return this to the sticky section to help prevent injuries...

I had a bucking situation this summer back in June with our 2011 VXR. The ski always bounces at wide open throttle. I had never rode the ski double at full throttle before this happened. My wife and I decided to ride double and the ski bucked and went to right very quickly and violently. I had no way to recover the turn and we both flew off the left side. Thankfully we were both ok but shaken up for sure. This was on glass water with no debris in the water. I'm hoping that the R&D intake grate that I am going to install will make the ski safer.

mine bucked dec 2011, cost me a rear exit dislocated shoulder, both the R&D aquavien and the RIVA SS grate solved that problem

I have run my ski with stock grate into the 72-73 mph range with no issues. I think the ride plate it the bouncing culprit but i have never experienced it
