2002 Virage TXI
I saw this today on CL. Is it something to consider? Looks like it might be a good deal if I can get it running. Been looking for a
4 stroke. Will it need updated stator and CDI? Whatcha think?
$800 Including Trailer
"2002 Polaris wave runner always kept in doors has a great trailer with working lights has a brand new battery but here's the problem, it turns on for only 2 seconds only."

What would it need do you think. Do these need updates? Stator CDI etc. Any Idea? It's literally 5 mins from my house.

If the engine is mechanically sound (compression, etc) then the most expensive repair possible is the EMM which DFI can usually fix for $700. Another $200 for TPS and LR-503 module and that covers the majority of the repair cost risk.
It could just need an LR module or a new TPS installed, and the EMM might be just fine.
The other vector is the flywheel magnets have come loose and ruined the stator. If that has happened then the odds are reasonable that the EMM is still good.
California is too far of a drive for me this week ...
