Well that should do one or more things for the see doo ski market ... make possible access to more parts & service or draw down on exsisting parts & already strained service ... have to wait & see.

It would be really cool to have crate motors available. Kawi did that for 3 months in 2011 and axed it for some reason. They were cheap too.

Just months after the appearance of the new Sea Ray 21 Jet bowrider, two leading powerboat manufacturers, Rec Boat Holdings (Four Winns/Glastron/Wellcraft) and Chaparral have both announced plans to build new jet boat runabouts powered by the BRP Rotax 4-TEC 1503....

After thorough testing and analysis, Sea Ray has determined the propulsion system in its prototype jet boats does not provide the quality, durability and reliability necessary to meet the rigorous requirements of the Sea Ray brand...
Would be interesting to know exactly what aspects they found wanting.

Sea-Ray had a jet drive "sport boat" on display here at the Atlanta Boat show last year and it has the small 2 cylinder Hydrospace motors in it and it was a 21 foot..Boat would have been a total turd!!!! Just not enough power from those motors to push a 21 foot boat.. If they were changing to use BRP power packs, then yes, that is something I don't know about....
