similarly.... how do i get video from a movie camera to a computer? it's a relatively new camera (1 year old) and it has USB and DV connections on the camera.... that's about all i know. it uses those mini mini cassette tapes for storing video.

I'm not at all computer savy but i think there's a special card you can get because a friend of mine watches TV through his computer and does all sorts of stuff with videos from his camcorder. I could be wrong. I'd like to know myself i'm trying to make the mother of all videos this summer.

Shibby --- there should be software that came with your camera that allows u to take it from your camera -- or once connected if you are on windows.. open up Start --> Programs ---> accessories ---> windows movie maker and it will take things off your camera thru the USB
twoCorrupt ---> ya i think either you will need to find a graphics card that allows the VCR (RCA) connections or find a place in town that will digitize for you.. thats what i'm thinking of off the top of my head at the moment....

Not sure which is easieir but I purchased something from "adaptec" at Circuit City and copy my 8mm to DVD and then the DVD to the hard drive on my computer. It's called "VideOh! DVD Media Center AVC-2310." Not very user friendly at first but it did work.

well no indeed, you have to waste a DVD in order to get the video on your computer.
I don't know how much you paid for that thing but I am sure you could have spent this money more wisely in a video capture card.

Look for a PVR card for your computer like an "All in Wonder" a "Theatrix" or one of many tv cards.
They are great to have because you can use your computer as a VCR.
