Lift the ski up and get a hose with a sprayer from front pull the the plug out from back i normally since cleaning put some dawn or joy in front of engine to clean helps a little more in process.

I actually have a long, and I mean LONG, zip tie...its about 1/2 wide and 18 inches long....Its flexible enough to follow the contour of the hull and push anything to the back of the ski...I just reach around, with my body on the intake side, around with my right arm under the front corner of the motor, under the manifold....Push everything that drops to the back...

I actually have a trained mole that recovers anything I drop in the hull...
Just another option
