    Fuel pump question.

Have a fairly new OEM fuel pump in the GPRXP, it ran fine. It started up fine and idled smooth yesterday but this morning it wouldn't start. I ran the pump direct to a pressure gauge and it show 18psi then drops pressure instantly. key in gets me 12.45v at the plug on the end pin and 5v on the 2nd pin. Fuses are good. Battery was on a charger for 1.5 days.

    Anyone have this issue?

Bad pump, Plugged filters or leak in the feed tube. Or its out of gas.

    Thanks..

On the rude I plugged the return and ran straight to gauge...
    1/2 tank ..

Hmmm, feed tube...... It takes a few seconds to climb to 18psi and then dumps.. could be....

It looks like a PITA to remove the sending unit from the gpr hull..

I was just being lazy and thought there was a magical fuse or something... Damn..
    I'll take it out.

My only advice is take your time and don't use force as the answer to your problems. Have fun and good luck Jim!

It's not that bad. I took mine out from the front storage. I guess it all depends which tank you have in there.

It came out much easier than I thought. Nothing out of the ordinary in there. I've seen much worse internal filters than this that ran well.
