2002 virage, does it have a water hose connector?

Found a black hose, squared end on it, has what looks like where you would thread the male end of a water hose to it. Doesn't have a plug on end of it, does it need one, cold that be where I taking taking water in, while it ran?

    Photo please.

Where does this mystery hose connect to?

The above photo, the line goes to a "T" fitting, curious if it has something to do with the fuel/water separator?

The item in the photo is part of a broken water injection solenoid. These are known to fail, and were only used on the two cylinder fuel injected engine.

See my signature links in the Ficht section for details on how to delete the solenoid and cap the water connections.

I suspect you will find the other piece of that solenoid hanging underneath the exhaust pipe near the Mag cylinder, on the outside.

196.00 $$ part! Guess deleting the solenoid, would be the cheaper alternative? Is this likely the reason, why I was taking in water during operation? Instead of the thru hull bearing?

I would not be at all surprised for that busted valve to be spewing water when the engine is running.

If you tested the watercraft in the water on the trailer at the ramp with the seat off you would probably see the water spraying out.

Did you read my posts about deleting this water injection solenoid? It is all documented.

Looking at your photo again, it seems the valve body is already disconnected from one of the two hoses. Somewhere in the bottom of the hull is the end of the electrical connection. The solenoid portion may still be plugged in, or there may just be a disconnected wire plug.

Yes, found your link to deleting the water injector solenoid, tried to start ski last weekend, but with this cold weather, she wont stay running long enough to warm up, to look for leaks, going to take it to that Polaris shop, ugh 80 miles, prolly after Thanksgiving, to see if its the EMM or whatever? Thanks for your expertise!

Not much room to work, to get that fitting out, tried to break loose, brass fitting that went into the exhaust pipe, couldn't break it loose, so I tried to get that 5/8th fitting, that connects to the brass fitting, going to try a crows foot, think im going to come off the hip, and get a new water injection solenoid, any tips on get those fittings loose?

It has been a while since I last did one

I think I tried several different tools to get it loosened, then to work it off. Getting the exhaust pipe water fitting capped is the hardest part, of course.

I have a working solenoid valve here (removed from a 2004 Virage i) if you want to go that way. It has the updated white Delrin body and the hose nipples attached. In fact I just took it out to the garage today! It was sitting near my desk for the longest time ...
