    04 rxp rebuild rough prices $au

    Hi all this is my first post after lots of reading
    i have a 04 rxp that I picked up cheep it's history was a little grey but there was mention of a larger newer sc at some stage . When riding this ski after about 20 min it would go in to limp mode and flash oil on the display but no fault codes . I gave it a oil and filter change and gave it another run ran fine but after about 20 min again after a restart the fault happened again. Fault clears if you remove the key until it revs to about 3000rpm .
    took the ski home and after some research thought why not check the front oil screen and found a lot of metal shavings so at this point I'm guessing I'm up for a full engine overhaul. I'm new to this but guessing possible Previous sc failure ? Anyway I'm wondering what sort of $$ I'm up for for a rebuild and any possible mods that are worth while while it is out?
    And if anyone knows good workshop around Sydney Australia

    oil pressure sensors are a known issue with your machine. The 1 under the intake manifold is the most problematic. Your machine may have other issues as well thou.

    I recently purchased a unknown condition rxp for very cheap.. It had some dansjetpower stickers on it. Found so far that everything in the ski has been done "right".

    They seemed to be a bit vague when I asked them for history of the ski.. But all up, I got the ski for a bargain..

    +1 on the oil sensor having issues on that year ski.

    But metal in the front screen is a sure sign of other issues.

    I'm located about 1.5 hrs south of Sydney at first I was thinking sensors too but the metal in the pump screen has to of come from some where . The strange thing is it runs great till the fault and tops out at 109kmh on not so flat water

    Check out the tops valve.
    Make sure its free.

    Then on to one or both oil sensors.

    If its running great and you've got good compression and leak down #s then you could change the oil sensors and rip on.

    I've seen motors with completely plugged screens from s/c clutch failure run for 100s of hours. I've also seen them crap out after only a few.
    Are you a gambling man??
    You could ride it till it stops then rebuild. Who knows how long it will last???

    I'm more than happy to take the risk the way I see it I'm up for a rebuild at some stage anyway
    what would be a reasonable compression reading for it I haven put a gauge on it yet
