NPV 1200 2 Stroke Stumbling after 1/2 hr Run

I was running my SUV1200 with premix (2 stroke) today and pushed it for a 1/2 hr at 40+ MPH..Had no issues, and then it started stumbling (felt like fuel) as I had to contnuously feather the throttle to keep it running... I limped back to the dock and loaded it onto the trailer, but it bonked along the way a number of times. I got it home and found there was very little water in the factory fuel separator at the (bottom). I got it running again with some burping popping and then it seemed OK again.. Is this indicative of water in the fuel??

One thing I did notice is that the inlet fuel hose was sitting below the carbs since I didn't reconnet it to the upper support (it is now).. But the fact that it ran for 1/2 hour trouble free leads me to believe that it was not an issue?

I appreciate the input. I'll have to rebuild the removed carbs as well... I'll check the filters on them.

Ouch! I have decided I am going to be tearing my carbs down as a yearly maintenance item. I can do it myself now, and at a little over $100 per ski and a couple hours total time involved it is in my mind cheap insurance.
