    R&D Performance Exhaust Plate?

I searched around but didn't seem to see anything about this. 331-35300 part number. Replaces exhaust filter, never has to be replaced, etc...

Anyone used one? Seems like it would be good if it doesn't have side effects.

Keep the filter there has been no proven gains in removing it.

Yeah, I did read that, but this plate is cheaper than the replacement filter and is forever. Isn't it worth it even with no proven performance gain?

Mate the filter protects the engine internals from moisture. The new type filter lasts alot longer than the previous. Actually havent heard of a failed one yet. But if you must have the plate because rnd says its a performance part, why dont you just remove your filter from the centre of your own plate ?

Sorry, I see the threads that speak of the side effects now. I wasn't looking for the performance gain as I do believe all that say it isn't there. I was thinking of the benefit of not having to keep checking the filter.

mine is a '12 I bought new this season. I have 28 hrs now. Can recall if the new style came out in 13 or 12 model year.

Yep, just pulled mine out, it's done around 60 hours, I will probably replace it as the sides are starting to pull away, just like the old style. For what it is worth, the reason I just checked it was because I was getting some hard starts (like the filter was missing). I think the whole does allow some additional moisture through (obviously). I'm not convinced it's any better at this stage.

Curious how many times you are able to get an R&R out of one set of gaskets - or possibly you use the same gaskets - yet apply some "special sauce" to them?

You gotta be nearing the "200 Club" soon...
