310x, FX SVHO or RXT-X
This is probably a 50 page thread at the most
I need to replace the STX-R and thinking about something different.
The idea is to pack the 300x up and make that our second ski (when the whole family goes out). It will essentially retire. It's almost at 200 hours and has been a fantastic ski. It still scares the bejeebers out of me sometimes.
I ride in mostly rough water and flog the ski everywhere.
I'm not worried about maintenance or fuel usage. I purely want performance and reliability.
I know the 300x is the rough water, holeshot king, what I want to know is what you'd consider the FX and RXT to be the king of?
Let the fun begin

Could you ever buy a a Yami Mal after towing em so many times??

Maybe I'm starting to feel sorry for them. I feel rude just speeding off all the time.
Plus, I'm getting older, the Yamaha suits older riders like me.

Having just been in the EXACT same delemma myself Mal as u r aware.....
I rode those other 2 exact ski u mention....and after a 1/2 hr ride on each swapping between 300x, sho 2013 cruiser ( same hull as 14 svho ), rxtx260 rs. And I just couldnt live with the loss of the rough water ride ability of the kawi...
Even just cruising i missied it.
Did like the low speed stability of the Yami alot..... because i do fish from my skies
Didnt really like the seadoo on any level.....personally the build quality appeared and felt flimsy. Aswell as having seem some of the related failures.
So it either a yammi or 310 i felt.
And the wife still wants a svho cruiser when they are available down the track....

I would not want the RXT. I think the YAM and KAW have now left it behind with the 2014 models at hand. I would consider the new YAM FX SHO. It's going to be a very well rounded Ski that will do alot of things very well. It can be ridden aggressively, plus it will also shine in general family recreation activities. And now that you are getting older (like me) you will like the creature comforts on this Ski
And I think in your particular case, it would be a nice addition to what you already have. JB

Mal just as with every other thread like this, this thread will only accomplish the typical BS. None of us can tell you how to spend your money. Already the fans of each ski will suggest their fav. I will comcede that every ski will get the votes depending on who post it.
Wait until someone gets one and go ride them as Waz did. You will make your decision.
If you really want to get a comparison between these skis there enough threads between all of them.
The search tool is a great one. The new SVHO engine is a slight power improvement. The 310 is a slight power improvement. Both have another year working with the same bace components of the ski making them more reliable. You can ride the current products and make that decision because with both getting a slight HP increase the difference will be the same.
