Please read the product descriptions to get some ideas on the differences. Watch the video also

    Riva/ ViPEC

    Riva/Athena

With either you can self tune. The Athena will require you to buy a Dash logger in order to log

That said, by the time you buy the Athena and Logger you would have had the new ViPEC. The ViPEC is the better choice in my opinion.

Our Vi-PEC V88R ECU's provide internal data logging. Our Athena ECU's do not provide internal data logging requiring you use our Dash Logger in order to data log. Both are reviewed using your lap top, or desk top, PC.

Both ECU's provide "Closed Loop Lambda" functionality that is used in tandem with our LC-1 Wideband Lambda Kit. Our Vi-PEC V88R ECU provides Auto Log Correction based on parameters you configure in the VTS Software.

And both of our ECU's provide Manual Correction. Athena is limited to adjustments to certain tables whereas Vi-PEC allows you modify everything, to the point that you can build your own map!

RIVA CREW Does the vipec 88R have the ability to do "auto tune" and write a map for you correcting the AFR's to the numbers you want them to be if you provide the desired AFR's? Tommy Jordan

Auto-tune is not "live automatic tuning". You are required to test ride the craft with a data logger and air fuel ratio sensor in use. You will then take the data obtained during the test run and use it to make corrections to an existing calibration based upon the desired, or targeted air fuel ratio. The calibration (map) must accurately match the performance parts and modifications applied to the engine. It could take several test runs to achieve the correct, or targeted air fuel ratio.

Another option, or feature, of the the Vi-PEC V88R is Closed Loop Lambda. It allows for automatic live corrections while the craft is running.

It's important to note that the O2 sensor must be in good working order. If any corrosion has accumulated on the O2 sensor it will throw off the values used for air fuel ratio.

Another great feature of our Vi-PEC V88R is that Internet access is not required. You can make the changes, corrections, etc right there at your favorite secret test spot!

Wanting to run e85 fuel here is aust with a vipec it will be good to be able to tune. The v88r besides wide band what else does it need? Would there be anything else u recommend for the engine.
