    2012 SHO Clutch Done @ 75 Hours . . .

Looks like my Clutch is gone at 75 hours (stock). Lost significant power today on ride back home. Ski kept running; and made it back to Trailer. Not happy, but at least not stranded. JB

I hope it's just the sprag bearing and not the dreaded teeth shearing off! Time for a 2013 gen III clutch and Idler gear. Tommy Jordan

    Glad all is well JB!

I have never considered a supercharged ski for what I do, reliability isn't just there compared to NA skis...
I am not a racer nor care to get there any faster than I do so I'll stick with my old skis lol
I would love to see Yamaha improve the performance of their NA 1812cc to what they did with a 1050cc ski....Their MR1 is completely optimized in every aspect, long reliable life already proven. They increased the engine volume by 70% but their overall performance gain compared to their 1049cc is not big.

Looks like future will only have SC skis, people like me are rarity.....

It seemed like I had some "intermittent" power here and there, after the Ski slowed down to about 40 mph. I was pushing the Ski pretty hard on a 100+ mile ride. Fairly calm conditions but pushing into a 4 foot ground swell @ 17 seconds. When the Ski gets some air off the swells I do let off the throttle, but when I am back in the water I am back on the throttle 100% . . . I was chasing some pretty fast Skis today. JB

Whoops Don't tell the Kawi guys

    Crap, they already know

Has anyone got YoYamma's mobile number?

Sorry JB, you know I had to.

But on a serious note, I hope it's all fixed up soon, because it sucks not being able to get out there more than paying for it to get fixed.

well well well lmao, the threads you find when you least expect it, i guess all skis have there faults just some manufactures actually do something about them

It's a 2012 model. Based on the VIN Number, I did not have the 2013 Super Charger unit. I would still consider this a reliable Ski. I have a combined 200+ hours on the Yamahas and this is my first issue. The last 10 hours I did increase the pace of my rides on this Ski.

Yes a shame, this is the best time of year for riding where I am. The swells get big and the water is fast. Surgery scheduled for tomorrow . . . it will ride again! JB

John, You should've made the title of this thread "75 hour SHO Report" similar to the 50 hour you did LOL

Pulling your legs, bringing some wood to the fire lol

Look at the bright side, if this was your Kaw you'd had that engine rebuilt twice by now...lol and no, not under warranty...
