Important when flashing A Sea Doo Spark with Maptuner

First, you will need a V-Tech Maptuner. Here is the link to purchase
    http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=1957

You will then need a Spark tuning credit for each Spark that you tune
    http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=2410

Very Important Instructions when flashing A Sea Doo Spark ECU. Please read carefully

    When using 10.66 firmware Maptuner:
In order to tune your Spark you need to follow this procedure:
After you done the check for update on Client software and the info about your ski have been sent to server, you then need to send a email to [email protected] with your VIN number or login.
( Since Spark is new we want to look at each tuning manually in the beginning)

After you get a reply back you can then proceed with selecting your tunes.
    Flashing.
Once you got the tunes in the maptuner its time for flashing.

It’s VERY important that you do like this.

To power ecu properly you need to follow this sequence:

    remove key
    press start button
insert key – listen for the 2 bip bip so you know all ok.

When you selected the file on maptuner it will first verify the file inside the memory.
This goes in between 0-43 %
After that maptuner will ask you to “press the start button” and then press OK on the maptuner.
This is a bit misleading, you need to power the Sparks ecu properly like this and then press ok on Maptuner:

    remove key
    press start button
insert key – listen for the 2 bip bip so you know all ok.

If you do this wrong your ecu can lock up and you need to send your ecu to dealer with boot mode tool or get a updated maptuner.

We have just released v 10.67 that have a fix that will rescue your Spark ECU if it gets locked.
But 10.66 will work fine in you follow the above guide.

I do not have a spark, but I do know they don't have DESS. So when you say put the key on and hear the bip bip, what is making that noise?? Just curious???

    1st segment: 60hp stock

2nd segment: What to do when the maptuner asks you to press start key @ 43% progress

3rd segment: When 60hp has been tuned to 100+hp

Call me , it's easier to explain over phone ... Hardest bit is finding the buds plug ... Under coolant bootle , plugged up wards ...

with the 10,71 maptuner update you dont need to wait for the tunes to be looked at manually.

And if flashing fails we can recover the ecu easier.

Has anyone flashed a USA model? I bought two 60hp sparks. Base models.
