Is it a blasphemy to call a Yamaha Waverunner a "jet ski"?

I always thought only Kawasawki used the term "jet ski", and never to call a Seadoo or Waverunner a "jet ski". Am I wrong?

depends on what parts of the country you are in I guess

down here in Texas we pretty much call all watercraft "Jet skis" or "wave runners"

in Louisiana I hear them call all watercraft "Seadoos"

personally I hate it when folks call watercraft "bikes"... bikes have wheels dammit!

    lol

I get offended whenever anyone refers to my Yamaha by a Kawasucki name.

i believe the proper term is boatercycle

around here its jet ski or waverunner. Jet skis more popular but everyone knows what you mean if you say waverunner.

I remember being in a yamaha motorsports dealership years ago standing in front of a shelf full of yamalube for dirtbikes and atv's and my dad asked someone if they carried yamalube for jet skis and the man starred at him with a blank face as if he had no clue what he talking about. guess its all preference

I had only ever owned Seadoos previously and I only ever called them Seadoos. Its only after buying a Yamaha and joining more forums, that I see the term "jet ski" and I always assumed the poster was in the wrong forum.
