Yam fx sho 08 filling with water

Just bought a fx sho and on first time out the ski was filling with water . Phoned the guy I bought it from he said a few things it could be inlet pipes ect drained the ski went back out and same thing happened . So rang the guy back up and he said take it to dealers and he will pay the bill . Once I got there the dealer had noticed the bilge pump was blocked with an old rags that must have been left in while cleaning or servicing . So he unblocked that and I left the ski with him . I got a phone call saying that the seal had gone where the sponsons are attached to the ski and he thinks it may have been like this for a while but with the bige pump blocked that's why it's now been noticed he says he has re sealed it .

my question is is this a common fault or could the dealer just be saying this cos he can not find the leak it it is known to leak in there could the seal easy fail again

If you put water in the hull and see where its draining out...
That's the best way to check for leaks...

It wasn't until a few months ago I had the same problem, done a run without the seats on and found the problem right away, the hose connection where you flush the ski was in place and I wasn't told that it had to be taken out and the cap screwed back on before it goes in the water.
Might be worth checking if your new to ski's

Got it back from dealers and tested it myself in the sea for about an hour and no water coming in anymore so must have been like dealer says from the sponsons
