    08 Supercharger oiler mod question

Is this still a good idea ?

The PTO cover is off to do flywheel bolts so now is the time.

I found a few older threads that mention no real benefit if using a stock 215 charger. I plan on installing an ET127 wheel, my charger has the updated rebuild kit so it has the larger oil hole in the shaft.

You need to be running 08+ SC shaft to benefit.

As cheap as it is to do,and eventially you will end up with an 08 shaft upon your next rebuild,i would put it in.....It is nothing but a benefit as it aids in lubricating/cooling the clutch/bearing assembly..

Mine is an 06 215 I don't have an oil squirter for the super charger.... do I need to use a different PTO cover?
if you are planing to upgrade your charger to one with the updated shaft it is a good idea to do it!!! It wiil keep the supercharger bearings lubricated... To do this mod you dont have to replace the PTO cover just remove the old oiling squirter and install the 08+ one!! On the link that i posted you can see how is done, is an easy task..

I will get Pics up at some point today. I haven't seen a oil squirter on mine its all black like it was made that way. Unlike in the photo's given I see near the sensor it looks like there was something there it had just been removed and you can see the alum. where it had been removed. Like I said mine is just all black.
On your ski the squirter looks like a little nipple metal in color!!

I always thought it just squirted oil into the shaft to better lube the clutch washers and came out through them, not the bearing? Am I wrong?

The squirter actually squirts oil into the shaft, then from the shaft it is forced out through the needle bearings, between the clutches, and out VIA the 8 cut grooves in the gear..Its primary use is to add additonal lubrication/cooling to the clutch/bearing assembly..People mistakingly think this is lubricating the FAG bearings,it can in a sence BUT it is not the sole purpose of this mod..
