New dash installed but not configured properly? Help needed
I replaced my dash on my RXP-X, took it into an authorized service agent to marry it to the ECU. When I got it back it wasn't displaying all of the right things, like it wasn't configured properly.
The slider for rpm was working but the numbers were not, they kept changing between 0 and 5000 when I would rev it.
Fuel gauge was not working.
The compass also was not working properly.
My question is, does all of this need to be configured or did I get a bad dash? It was purchased new.
I called the service center and he said it should all just work but I don't think he is confident in saying that as he only recently became a seadoo authorized service center.
Also, it's very hard for me to go and see him as it's out of state so I will only go there if it is necessary.
As always your advice is greatly appreciated.

The new dash comes with blank firmware and needs to be flashed for the correct model.

If your authorized service center didn't get your guages right I wouldn't trust them with anything else on your pwc...
Imagine the mess they might make on a truly difficult repair...

in defense of the center, flashing consoles does require some insider info as far as what is what...and only BUDS can flash the firmware due to copyright issues the flash files are not made available, nor have they ever leaked out and distributed.
The center should either refund you or do the job right. I'd chat up the service manager first to ask him how this work was checked..or did they just select "marry", not knowing what really needed to be done.
