Need HELP choosing Impeller for 04 RXP
Hi, I have an 04 RXPand have done the following Mods:
Riva grate intake
opas block offs
A kit charger impeller/ rebuilt charger w` washers
Riva Free Flow exhaust pipe
42 lbs Bosch Injectors
Riva valve train, collets, springs etc upgrade
Riva 340 Stealth fuel pump
I am hitting the limiter at 63 mph with approx 1/4 throttle left....
Is it impeller ?? which one do I need to replace the stock one ??
Is it Tune ?? Vtech

Two things, you need to check that your wear ring is not worn, that could cause cavitation which would explain your low speed and hitting the limiter,
But yes you could do with a new prop, if you want top speed the solas 14/19 will be good for you, it may need a little pitch added depending on what RPM limiter you have in the Vtech.
I would advise a new wear ring anytime you fit a new prop!!

Yes the wear ring goes without saying,
Would you suggest a stainless steel wear ring
What difference is there with the 14/19 and the 15/20 impeller ??

15/20 if you have a tune. What is the tune?

The 15/20 has a bigger root angle that is aimed at more powerfull setups.
To the OP
I dont like stainless wear rings, the plastic ones work great all the time they are in good health but if the worst were to happen they give and save the prop... Stainless rings dont give so something has too... Which would normaly be your $300 prop getting mashed up... Lot more $$$ than a new plastic ring, plus I have seen props getting worn down because of stainless rings which causes cavitation and you will need the prop welded and re worked to get it back to the right diameter.
My tip is go with a plastic ring, when you install it smear the inside with washing up liquid (dawn,is it in the US??)
Then re install the pump on the ski, squirt a load more fluid in the back of the pump and add some water before you start it, I run it for 30 seconds at idle before taking it to the water, this ensures the first time the prop spins up its nice and lubed which has stood me in good faith as I have zero cav and get good life from my wear rings.

I'm planning an ET127 wheel with 42lb injectors and mods in sig which is very similar to your machine I have been advised I need a 15/20 impeller with pitch added.
With mods in sig, no wheel yet and stock injectors with a 14/19 I'm on the limiter at 8100rpm with a GPS of 68.8mph.
A 14/19 will probably need pitch added not sure where a 15/20 will put you. Impros said they could rework my 14/19 into a 15/20 which would be cheaper than buying a new 15/20 so i might give them a try.

on the 04 type RXPs a 15/20 will be a tad bit to much without an external ICer,42s,4 inch cold air intake and a RRFPR..A valve train upgrade is NOT needed until you up your RPM range...A 14/19 and a 15/20 will both need a tad bit of tweeking either direction..Chances of them dropping in and being spot on will not happen...BUT every machine is different as thier riding conditions and that will warrent prop selection too..

Is there a difference with the impeller with the R in SOLAS SRX-CD-14/19R IMPELLER, or is the SOLAS SRX-CD-14/19 just as good, as I am thinking of buying as a kit, with the tool and wear ring
