Review: 2013 Offshore National Championship Race, “The LB2CAT” DVD

It’s the longest continuous offshore, open-ocean race in the United States. It’s also the longest-running offshore race in the US, reaching back to the mid-1990s (that is with a short break in the mid-2000s for a couple years). It’s the infamous “Long Beach to Catalina and Back” or “LB2CAT,” and it’s a 58-mile endurance sprint to the Southern Californian island and straight back. And while the course seems pretty straightforward, navigating the ever-changing sea state, cross currents, and battling the elements can quickly turn the round trip into a struggle.

This race is what had me buying my first ski the ultra 250x. Until this point I had no ski experience. I wish this race was the east coast as well. Awesome video

    Devils,

I'm really hoping for a National Offshore Series, even if it's just four or five races including the LB2CAT and AquaX's Daytona race. I'd really like to see a smooth-to-rough-to-smooth offshore race that starts inland in the Gulf and heads out into the soup.

That be awesome. I live up north east more. We could have some sweet inlet to inlet races as well. We have some grudge matches/leasure rides. I think it would be a hit. 50-100 runs.

Is this 2013 LB2CAT DVD actually shipping?

I ordered the DVD Dec 5 but I have not yet received it. The order page does not mention when it will be available, or I missed that info...

    When did it arrive?

I expect since you are in California they would arrive promptly. I am farther away.
