    Machining needed for supertech valves???

So continuing on my 05 RXP project "Finally bought a broken RXP" thread....
getting a used head and going to replace the stock valves with supertech's (OEM replacments)
Not planning to get crazy on the RPM's just reliable.......

So do I have to machine match the valves to the head Or
    just simply switch them out??????

Multi angle valve job will promote better flow around the seats in the head because they are radiused.

Each angle that is cut is an area where the valve will meet the head and promote better sealing when the valves are closed.

    usually a 3 angle or 5 angle.

And yes it should be done.

If you want them to seal perfect have a shop machine the seats and lap them. Otherwise they will have some leakage if new valves are lapped into old worn seats

A good 3 angle valve job would kept the Seat contact area right in the center of the valve. This is what you want. A Good Valve shop could handle this with NO problem. 75 percent of the performance of the SKi is in the Top End of the Engine. Find someone that will perform the job correctly!!! If you just Swap them out & Hand Lap ?? the Valve will be Flat... but the Worn Seat in the head Will Not Be Flat... This will cause leakage.......

Can any machine shop do this ? or does it have to be a PWC specific shop? Don't really want to send this cross-country to FL.

Any shop should be able to do it. Ask around your area and see if somebody recommends a specific shop that does good work and is trustworthy

Our heads on seadoos are small compared to a auto shop. A high Performace Bike shop would have Good Equipment & the guides and the stones would be small too.
