    Porting and polishing GP1300R

hey guys i got a 03 GP1300R with PV. what gains would i see, if any, if i ported and polished the exhaust ports on this ? i know it has been done to the NPV and seen great results, just wondering if it still makes a difference on the PV motors as well ?

It makes a big difference with the wright combination of other mods. you can hurt the performance cutting in the wrong area of the ex. port. there are members on here that do porting and from what i have heard they do pretty good work.

Porting is a MAJOR improvement, depending on porting skills, adapting width and height of the intakes and exhaust ports.
This is offcoarse in conjuction with all other improvements of the engine.
Polishing the channels will actually have negative effect, the "raw" surface after porting will give less drag to the airfuel mixture ( sort of a golfball effect )

Please leave this to the experts, the nikasil can chip off, and you can ruin your engine if done wrong.

IMO 1300 powervalve motors respond better to porting than non pv. You will need all the other associated parts tho, or it wont help as much. Timing, reeds, exhaust, compression.
Portsmiths know exactly how much to raise ports and how to trim the valve, so just polishing up the ports wont yield much if anything. Use someone like Lowell, Tim Judge, Kevin (West coast porting), ect.
