Thread: limp mode

    limp mode

I took my ski out the other day and it was running strange i think it is in limp mode. The red light was on on the mfd but the display is broken and the light is the only working part so it might always do that. But if someone knows anything about it does it make a throbbing noise when you push the throttle about half-way and above.??

If your MFD goes bad it will throw it into limp mode. On Al's SLTX the MFD housing started to peal away and got water in it. It went into limp mode.

okay, here's what happend to me it was my last time out last season...it started out running great...i noticed a "E" on the left side of it (everything else was blank..no fuel or oil levels nothing..) so later on that day the "E" was gone, everything else was still blank and then it started running bad, so i parked it, and winterized it..

If nothing else you need to get a gauge and verify why the red lamp is flashing, it could be another couple of items at issue.
Be sure not to have the gauge hooked up while jump starting, carnking with a weak battery or while charging the battery. It seems all these situations will take the MFD to an early grave.
