Rxt-x looses power at 5500 rpm

    Hi Everyone,

I am new to green hulk and a new owner of 2 2008 seadoo's rxt x 255. My seadoo seems to have a few issues I'm not sure how to fix or whats wrong. I also live in St.Kitts in the caribbean so there are no qualified mechanics let alone a seadoo mechanic so your help is greatly appreciated.

When I rev my seadoo to around 5500 rpms it drops down like 4000 rpms. I keep on the throttle and it revs back up and goes a little further past 5500 rpms then drops back down again and I am unable to get it past 6000 rpms. It has fresh oil, only 40 hrs on the new supercharger rebuild. I don't have any error codes and I also bought the buds system and no errors come up on that either. Any ideas whats wrong and how to fix it? Could it be bad gas? The gas on the island is not the best quality. I will try and put some octane booster in it today and see if that helps.

    Thanks for your kind guidance.

    Jeff

Gas and / or spark plugs.
Run some fuel Injector cleaner thru them also.

    Welcome aboard the Hulk!!!

It sounds to me like you have no boost.
1-run it on a trailer with the seat off and listen for an air leak (like a hose has popped off) or
2-your supercharger pooped out. You can remove the air intake, stick your finger in and try to spin the SC wheel.

Thank you so much for the quick responses. It seemed that adding some octane boost really made the difference. I guess we just have shitty gas on the island. I'll be sure to post in the seadoo 4 stroke section.

    Thanks again.

So I ran both skis right after with the octane boost and they ran great. I use both skis for my Flyboarding business so they're mainly used for that. When I hooked up the Flyboard to it again it was still struggling to get over 5500 Rpms. They had no problem getting to 7800 Rpms before. Any ideas why they can't get the same power as they used to with the Flyboard on?

ok, folow up. answer: "Yes or No" ".. and what changed"

1-have you replaced the spark plugs?

2-have you run two full tanks of FRESH high octane fuel through the skis?

if you answered those "yes" and "no change" then check for boost issues as I suggested.
